Olympic Pictograms: February 5-12, 2026

Every Olympic host develops a set of pictograms representing the various sports. Usually, they are similar in style to the host city’s Olympic logo or borrow elements from it. You can see examples of this year’s set about 3/4 of the way down this page here. For this assignment, pick an Olympic sport (or a few of them) and develop your own pictogram for it, ideally tying it in some way to a city of your choosing.

I kind of like the preliminary design for the 2034 Winter Olympics in Utah, so I tried to model my pictograms off of that logo. It was harder than I thought it would be.

Next Week’s Assignment:

Write a song or poem to or about a former love - not one you’re with now, but someone you used to date, be married to, have a crush on, have a fling with, love, like, lust after, etc. Doesn’t have to be hateful, resentful, or antagonistic (but certainly can be) - just has to be about a certain someone from your past.

Due February 19 by 7:00 p.m.
