Entered a search for “famous poems” on Google. It directed me to a Reader’s Digest article by Akram Herrak titled “20 Famous Poems Everyone Needs to Read at Least Once” from March 2025. After reviewing the article I had an idea for submission, the second was a chance encounter, a bonus if you will.

We live within a mile of this left or right choice. The lands beyond the arrow sign are pastures with ponds made from old coal pits. Turning left takes one to town, whereas turning right takes me home.

While contemplating the assignment, I encountered this fella/gal. I have not done much peacock research, only enough to know that they CAN fly, if needed, to escape a threat or nest somewhere. I have seen it only once before, so today was pretty cool which leads me to another poem…

Full circle with Frosty representing the snow previously mentioned after the bird, yet he is happy.

Next Week’s Assignment:

Draw something (person, animal, object, whatever) using only one continuous line - never lifting your pencil/pen/etc. from the paper from start to finish.

Due September 11 by 7:00 p.m.
